Lymphatic Therapy & Swelling Support
We screen first, use gentle techniques, and integrate movement without aggressive pressure.
Every step leads to a solution
- Post surgical or car accident patients (when appropriate for outpatient care)
- Persistent swelling that limits comfort, movement, or daily activity
- Heaviness, tightness, or restricted motion related to swelling
- Patients who need tissue management coordinated with rehab and return to activity planning
- People seeking clinical guided recovery support (not spa language or aggressive techniques)
- A quick screening confirms swelling patterns, tenderness, and movement limits to guide care safely. Gentle techniques are selected based on tolerance and coordination with rehab
- Appropriate care focused on safety. Swelling is addressed with practical guidance and movement rehab when fluid heaviness is decreased to manageable levels
Is lymphatic therapy the same as massage?—
Not exactly. Lymphatic techniques are typically lighter and more structured, designed to support swelling comfort and tissue tolerance. We choose the approach based on what your body can handle that day.
Is this appropriate after surgery?—
Often yes, depending on the procedure and timing. We screen first, follow your restrictions, and keep pressure appropriate for healing tissue. If something looks outside safe outpatient care, we’ll contact your surgeon immediately.
Will aggressive pressure help swelling go down faster?—
Not usually. Early healing tissue is sensitive, and overly forceful work can irritate tissue and prolong swelling. Our goal is calm, consistent progress using techniques that match the healing phase.
How many sessions do people usually need?—
It varies. Many patients benefit from a short series during the swelling phase, then transition to home strategies and movement based rehab as function improves.
What about fibrosis or “hard areas” after surgery?—
Some firmness can be part of normal healing. We assess what you’re feeling, keep techniques appropriate for timing, and coordinate a plan that supports tissue recovery.
Can you treat lymphedema or complex swelling?—
If you have diagnosed lymphedema or complex swelling, treatment may require specific protocols and referral pathways. We can screen, explain options, and help you connect to the right level of care.
